Take a peek inside our early learning centre rooms

With age appropriate rooms, your child will receive the best possible care

At Central Gardens Childcare Early Learning Centre, we strive to provide a safe, supportive and warm environment so the children in our care can flourish and develop to their true potential.

The first few years in a child’s life are critical for establishing language, ideas, abilities and interests, and due to the high standards and commitment of our educators, we’re proud to provide the right developmental and educational curriculum needed for each age group. We believe that a caring and stimulating environment with a homelike atmosphere is the ideal place for children to feel safe and secure.

Every child in our care is a valued individual with unique interests and strengths. We give the children the freedom to choose the activities they are most interested in, whilst guiding them to make positive choices so they can develop autonomy, competency, confidence and pride. All our rooms have daily routines that are designed to maximise each child’s opportunities to learn and evolve.

We encourage a sense of self-achievement and promote a positive attitude to encourage high self-worth, because we know if a child is confident, they will have the ability to do anything they set their minds to, now and in future. This encourages a strong emotional intelligence that gives children the ability to cope with life’s challenges.

Blossom Group

6 weeks – 2 years

Our youngest group is the Blossom Group, taking infants from 6 weeks of age to 2 years old. The staff in this room are specially trained and experienced in looking after babies and young children, and will work with you to keep the same feeding and sleep routine that you have at home.

We encourage the development of social skills through play and music, and help early language development through storytelling and positive interactions. Our staff help facilitate the transition from milk to solid food in the younger children and celebrate all milestones such as self feeding, crawling, walking and first words.

Gumnut Group

2-3 years

Our Gumnut Group is for 2 – 3 year old children where we teach and encourage further language development, focus on verbal and non-verbal communication skills and help the children strengthen their independence. This group sees the children establishing their own sense of identity and we see more of their individual personalities shine through.

Our staff help teach the children important life skills as they continue to learn and develop their sense of self. At this age, the children start to develop friendships, and through play, we see the adaptability and the creativity of the children flourish.

Banksia Group

3-5 years

The Banksia Group is for our 3 – 5 year old children. We implement the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) right from 6 weeks of age, however it becomes an essential part of the daily curriculum in the Banksia Group as it forms part of the School Readiness Program. This ensures that when the children start Kindergarten, they have the basic language and social skills needed to make the transition to school a successful one.

The qualified Educators in the Banskia room work in partnership with parents to build the curriculum, and to ensure each child’s knowledge, ideas, culture, abilities and interests are at the foundation of the program.

Lorikeet Group

5 – 12 years

The Lorikeet Group is for our primary school children who make use of the before and after school care and vacation care programs at the centre. We find many of our families have school aged as well as pre-school aged children, and the convenience of being able to have all their children cared for in the same place is invaluable.

Our before and after school care programs offer homework support, and we have a private bus driven by a qualified driver to ensure your child is transported safely to and from school. Our vacation care program offers a range of activities to keep children happy and interested during the school holidays, with a mix of in-centre activities and excursions.

Shared facilities for all rooms

All the children enjoy playing in the undercover outdoor soft play areas, and have the chance to interact with children from the other rooms, under safe supervision. Our purpose built play facility challenges and supports the children to experiment, which encourages exploration, problem solving, creativity and construction.

The children have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful outdoors, play on the climbing structure or slide, build sandcastles or dig for treasure in the sandpit. Our outdoor play area features a beautiful

sunflower and vegetable garden where the children love to tend to the garden and search for bugs and worms.

With spacious indoor areas, there is ample opportunity for the children to play dress ups, enjoy reading books, or get creative with craft, painting and drawing.

There is also a science corner where children can feed our lizards, turtles, baby chickens and small insects to watch them grow and develop.

Bonkers Beat Program

It has been proven that there is no other art form, hobby or activity that can produce the same level of lasting neurological benefits as music.

That’s why we are excited to introduce two award-winning, innovative music and wellbeing programs for the children in our centre – Bonkers Beat® and Bonkers Gym®.

The Bonkers Beat® Program was created by the 2015 ASG National Excellence in Teaching Award Winner, early childhood educator, music expert and composer – Galina Zenin.
